RICHARD A. MESTONE is the founder of the firm of Mestone & Associates, LLC and its current President. He has been in practice since 1999. Mr. Mestone's practice focuses on Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Law, Real-Estate Law, Tax, and Civil Litigation. Mr. Mestone served with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue for over twenty-three years in both the audit division as northeast regional audit manager and legal division as senior tax counsel handling bankruptcy and tax cases. He was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1999 after graduating cum laude from the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. Tax Court and the Appellate Tax Board. Mr. Mestone is a frequent faculty member at Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) educating others in the practice of bankruptcy law. Mr. Mestone is a former Board of Directors member of the States Association of Bankruptcy Attorneys and is a current member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts, and the Boston Bar Association, and has served on various committees including the Boston Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Steering Committee and the Boston Bar Association's Consumer Bankruptcy Committee. Mr. Mestone is the past President of the Greater Lynn Bar Association and continues to be a member of the Executive Board.
